Three decisions that shaped the app

Local-first, because a window manager has no business on a server

Your Scenes describe your work: which client you have open, which repository, which documents. None of that is interesting enough to sync and all of it is sensitive enough not to. FAST stores everything in portable local JSON you can read, export and import yourself. There is no cloud, no account inside the app and no telemetry. The only network traffic is license activation and periodic validation, and even that is allowed to fail for seven days before it bothers you.

Public APIs only, because your Mac's defences should stay up

FAST uses the public macOS Accessibility API and nothing else. You grant Accessibility permission once, and System Integrity Protection stays fully enabled — no kernel extension, no modified system volume, no reduced-security boot. A tool that arranges windows is not worth lowering your machine's security for, and we would rather do less than ask for that.

Pay once, because a window manager is not a service

FAST costs €29 for one Mac, €39 for two, €49 for three, once, with lifetime updates.
